Hi Backers!

Drew once again. I wanted to drop a line to all you wonderful backers that our Pax Pamir Reprint campaign is live on Kickstarter right now. I am mentioning this because this is your best chance to get a set of metal coins or our updated ruler tokens for this 2nd print run! There are no major changed between printings, but if are interested in the changes, you can pledge $5 for the replacement ruler tokens and a few updated cards with fixed typos.

Thanks again for supporting this project. Y'all are incredible. Happy gaming!

Pax Pamir Reprint Announcement, John Company Update
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 24, 2020 at 04:53:18 PM

Hi Backers!

Things have been pretty quiet around here. We finished fulfilling the campaign months ago, and, since then, Cole and I have been busy figuring out what we should do next. Today, I’ve got a few big announcements for you all.

First, I want to let everyone know that I’ve decided to leave my job at the Chicago Botanic Garden and pursue Wehrlegig Games full-time. When Cole and I looked at our schedule for this year, it was clear that there was plenty of work to keep me busy. I’ve been so amazed by the support you have all shown us so far. It's an exciting leap and I’m thrilled about everything Cole and I have in the works.

Helping bring Pax Pamir to life was an incredible experience for me. I won’t gush too much, but I am still so proud y’all made this crazy game possible. It still astounds me to look back on the original mockups for Pax Pamir as it was first pitched and compare it to the finished game. You gave us your trust to make Pax Pamir the best we could, I hope you think we did it justice.

The response to the game has been so incredible that I am happy to announce that we are coming back to Kickstarter for a new printing of Pax Pamir: Second Edition!

Outside of fixing a couple typos and replacing the laser cut ruler tokens with screen printed ruler tokens, there are no material changes to the game, so an upgrade kit won’t be needed. The screen printed ruler tokens will be available as an add-on for those of you that really want them, but they certainly aren’t necessary.

Pax Pamir: Second Edition Reprint will go live March 10th.

If you missed out on getting a set of metal coins during the first print run, you’ll be able to pick up a set of those during the campaign. Click here if you want to sign up for KS notifications when the campaign launches.

Work continues on a new edition of John Company. Cole has been overhauling the game's graphics and refining the game's scenarios. We hope to launch its Kickstarter later this year. Feel free to follow us along at @Wehrlegig if you want to see any sneak peaks of the development process.

Thanks for being amazing Backers <3

Wehrlegig's next steps and metal coin news
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 20, 2019 at 12:39:11 AM

Hello everyone!

First, Cole and I are still so humbled by all of the support and encouragement from the release and reception of Pax Pamir: Second Edition this year. You are all incredible backers and I'm so proud we could bring this game into existence with your trust. It's almost been one year since the KS campaign ended, and I'm feeling awfully reflective this week.

Cole and I strive to manage Wehrlegig as we originally planned, a part-time "gig" to bring our passion projects to life at our pace. I am still deeply connected to my work in informal education across Chicago's cultural institutions and Cole has plenty on his plate with Leder Games, especially as they gear up for #Oathboardgame.

To catch you up, I spent the summer working remotely while bike touring with my partner and soon to be wife! It was an absolute thrill and luxury to support our customers while exploring the West Coast and playing lots of Race for the Galaxy: Travel Edition (read: beat-up cards and chits stored in a plastic bag). Each day basically followed this formula - bike, eat, camp, game and repeat. Wehrlegig support emails and meetings from the road felt silly, but it allowed us to do the trip and spend an unforgettable summer coordinating fulfillment while patching flat tires. For that, I cannot thank you enough.

But now we're back. I am off summer hours and back to full-time work at The Garden and keeping Wehrlegig happy and healthy as we plan what's next. So, that brings me to some news about our next game!

I'm privileged to announce that early next year we will be bringing you all John Company: Second Edition, and I couldn't be more excited to be starting up this re-publication of one of my favorite games. We are still early on, so expect more details to come in the following weeks. We'll be sharing early graphics and other pictures, mostly teasers until the KS campaign starts admittedly, on social media. It'll be fun to follow along with us @wehrlegig, why don't ya?

Metal Coin News

Originally we had planned on doing a small run of metal coins, but, with a potential future print run of Pax Pamir happening in the future, it made much more sense to just wait until the next printing before manufacturing (and shipping) a very small quantity of coins. That said, we have gathered our remaining stocks from our other distribution hubs and will sell the final stock of these coins on our webstore Saturday 9/21 at 11am CDT. We don't have too many remaining, so if you are interested in getting these coins this year, this weekend is your chance. US+CA+EU+AU shipping for coins only. If you miss out, don't worry, we will be doing more coins eventually, but you might have to wait several months or so.

Okay, that's plenty for now. Thanks again and talk to y'all soon.

Gen Con 2019 and Impending Coin News
over 4 years ago – Mon, Jul 29, 2019 at 03:21:56 AM

Hi everyone,

Just a short update today. Drew continues to make progress towards Los Angles and is having a great time on his bike trip. I've finished my house move and we're mostly unpacked here in Saint Paul. Though moving down the street is hardly a  long-distance bike tour, I feel a lot of camaraderie with Drew in terms of general exhaustion.

Last update we let everyone know that we were not going  to be personally at Gen Con this year. Gen Coin is one of my favorite shows, but my wife is well into her third trimester and the baby is due within a few weeks. I couldn't quite justify leaving her with our two kids while I went on a long work trip. That said, I'm happy to report that Pax Pamir will make an appearance at Gen Con regardless!

Thanks to our friend Jon Ritter at Lay Waste Games, Pax Pamir will be available to purchase in limited quantities at Booth #2637. We don't have any coins to sell but if you have friends who are looking for a copy of the game, we made sure to send some of our dwindling supply to the big show.

In addition, we've had a volunteer offer to run some ticketed events and demos. You can catch him at the Lay Waste booth on Friday morning. Or, if you'd like to play a game, he's running six (!) ticketed events over the course of the fair. You can register for those here.

If you'd like to catch Drew and I at a show, this fall I'll be at the San Diego Historical Games Convention, Tabletop Network, BGG CON and Pax Unplugged. Hopefully Drew will join me for at least one of those shows. More on that in the future.

Okay, now let's talk about metal coins. In general, demand for Pamir has exceeded our expectations. The demand for the bag of metal coins in particular has been quite dramatic. Drew and I have started to prepare for a second print run of coins and so we hope to have additional sets for everyone who wants them eventually. We're also debating another run of the game itself. After Drew completes his bicycle tour, he and his partner will be flying to Minneapolis and we'll be going over some options and our schedule for the next year or two. Once we have a specific plan, I'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

As always, if you have any missing components to report, please write to [email protected]. Please remember that Drew is handling these emails on the road and there may be a several day delay before he answers you. We will get to you, promise.

That's all for now. Next update we'll probably do a final report on all fulfillment. I'd also like to do an update about the places where I'd like to improve our campaigns/productions for future projects and the general lessons I've learned over the course of this Kickstarter. Thanks again, everyone!

Another Fulfillment Update and Summer Plans
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jun 27, 2019 at 12:25:07 AM

Hi Backers!

First, let me just say that Cole and I are completely humbled by your first impressions of Pax Pamir. Your pictures, posts, and kind words have made us only that much more proud to have brought this proper second edition to life. You made this happen too, so relish in the work that you helped complete.

With that being said, we are not done yet. We have yet to deliver Pamir to all of our backers. I want to quickly give an update for backers still waiting to receive their copies from Happyshops (EU/Rest-of-world) or Snakes and Lattes (CA).

Happyshops

Pax Pamir got to Germany safe and sound, but we've had some trouble getting out of German Customs. There is always a chance that customs might halt a shipment, flag it for inspection, and hold it for about a week while they check boxes, unfortunately, that is what happened to Pamir. We did not know when it was going to be released from customs until today, so I am happy to say the shipment FINALLY cleared customs and will be  delivered to Happyshops on Tuesday, July 2nd.

I am sorry that this is a couple weeks later than I had previously shared. We were not expecting this sort of delay at the German port, and I will do my besto to make sure everyone knows about the possibility of customs delays when I update you all. Now that Pamir has cleared customs, the units will make it to Happyshops next week and orders will start going out as soon as the end of next week. Again, they will need a few days to unpack and inventory the shipment before they can start printing labels and shipping out units.

Like with our other shippers, keep an eye out on your email for tracking information. Once the package is in the mail system, it is very difficult to change any delivery details.

Snakes and Lattes

Units have arrived to S&L and they are ready to start shipping out CA orders across the next few days. I believe the first orders go out tomorrow. As before, let us know if you have any issues with the fulfillment/production of Pamir by sending a message to [email protected]

Summer Availability

On a bit of a personal note, my partner and I will bike touring down the West Coast of the United States starting next week! We couldn't be more excited about taking time away from our day jobs to travel. This is something we've wanted to do for years, but don't start worrying about Wehrlegig support quite yet. I will still do emails nearly everyday day and plan to actively process support/part requests as often as possible. We'll be plugged in, but living from our saddle bag panniers as we explore Oregon and California.

Cole will be in Saint Paul for the better part of the summer and will be hard at work on a few upcoming projects. In addition he's also preparing for a move down the block and he and his wife are expecting third third child in August. It shaping up to be a busy few months! Still, he'll do his best to keep an eye on the forums and answer any rules questions and be on the lookout for general feedback about the game to see where we can improve things for the next project.

Not sure if Pax Pamir will be making the trip out West with us...I bet I can find some room in these bags, right?
Not sure if Pax Pamir will be making the trip out West with us...I bet I can find some room in these bags, right?

Neither myself nor Cole will be at Gen Con this year. I'll still be on the road and Cole will be at home holding down the fort at Leder Games HQ. There's a good chance some Pamir will be available for sale at the show through some of our friends, but it's a little too early to tell. We'll be sure to keep everyone posted.

Thanks for all your patience and understanding as we make it closer to total fulfillment with S&L + Happyshops shipping soon. As always, reach out to us on [email protected] with any questions and tag us on social media @wehrlegig and #paxpamir
